Looking for Yes Cleveland Sept. 1978 recording

Post by 2112 »

Does anyone here have this show?
I'm looking for an excellent sounding, low generation recording.
Chris' bass sounds incredible on this one and Siberian Khatru, alone, is worth the whole thing.

Anyone???

Thanks.
I'm already on there with the request.
No luck so far.

My copy is alright. I just know there has to be a better one out there somewhere.

Chris has the wah thing going with his Rick and it is just awesome!
A couple of notes on Siberian Khatru are just hair rasing!
I can't see how he wasn't just smiling the whole night, every night on that tour.
His sound was so commanding on that tour. The absolute centerpiece of the sound.
No escaping it!

The above video contains the AUDIO track from the Sept. 1978 Cleveland show added to the VIDEO from the Philadelphia 1979 film that a lot of Yes fans have. The audio here is not as good as my copy on CD, but just check out Chris' sound. Just fantastic! It's my favorite sound that he ever had live.

Any luck tracking your tunes down yet?

Have a look here http://yessongs.blogspot.com/, there's a lot of stuff you'll like Im sure however from the quick scan I just had there's only 2 tracks from 78 and none from Clevland. But never mind that there's a stack of goodness to be had.

Thanks for that link Mark!
Actually the entire concert is there.
Only problem is that I have no way of burning a CD. If I'm lucky I might be able to actually register on that site. They are all filled up at the moment and I'll have to try later on. I could, I guess copy it to my computer, but then there's the problem with getting it to CD.

You're welcome Thomas, am I correct in thinking your refering to dimeadozen when you said that you needed to register before DLing? If so stick at it it only took me a bout three days, checking a few times a day to find a space. Good Luck!!

YES!!!
I have landed a GREAT copy.
A very generous person at the Yesfans site has sent me a copy in the mail.
It sounds waaayyy better than my now, previous copy.
Chris' Rick is unbelievable in this one, especially Siberian Khatru.
I can't tell you how many times I have rewinded a few parts of that tune just to hear the tones that he got out of that bass that night.
Thanks for the links for the show. Now I have it, so this thread is for all intents and purposes, closed.
