RotoSound GP Mag ad from '73....

Post by pacealot »

I was flipping around in a few old early '70s Guitar Player Magazines which I still peruse for pleasure and learning from time to time, and, lo and behold, in the Jan./Feb. 1973 issue with John Cippolina on the cover, page 28 had the picture of Chris that has been posted here before with his 21-fretter and that groovy turtleneck and medallion combo.

The kicker for me, though, is the text of the ad:

"Chris Squire of "Yes" ain't about to put nothin' but RotoSound Strings on his ax, man!!

How about you?"

If I can scan the whole thing, I'll put it up, for comedy.

If putting Rotos on my bass was all I needed to write and play music like Mr Squire I’d of done it years ago. Kinda screwy when we all know it’s the kind pick you use that will do all that for you! :D :D

Hope to see the picture soon.

For the moment, while I sort out the world of the USB scanner, this is the pic in question:

Juxtaposing that pic and that text is just priceless to me.
