Question for Sergio

Post by Gerald »

Hi Sergio, Peter said you can help me.
I have a 1975 Rickenbacker 481. My bridge pickup sounds bad. A teck check it and said that the pickup have a problem the tone is very hi like a telecaster and gain is lower than the bridge pickup.

Hmm... Right.
Hi, Gerald. Well, I'm sure what this bridge pickup is in dire need of is a slightly larger coil, and definitely a bigger (=stronger) magnet. Alternatively, you could remove/bypass the treble-pass capacitor in-line therewith, but that will definitely do away with the classic Rick treble bite/clank. Take your pick.
