The Cub Hitty Band
The Cub Hitty Band
I have a submission to the RickResource Forum from an artist that I think you will enjoy.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to identify the RRF singer-songwriter who is performing this song and at the same time to identify his influences. Your thoughts with regard to the song are welcomed at this time.
So what is Cub Hitty's real name, who do you suppose were his influences and what is this song about.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Re: The Cub Hitty Band
Singer I.D. no idea
Group I.D. no idea
Influences: Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Gary Louris, perhaps (from the Jayhawks). I think I hear something of Gordon Lightfoot's band. (Think of "If You Could Read My Mind")
Give us a hint, Peter. Canadian? American? Could be from Oz, but I don't think so. Could be from the UK. Again, I don't think so.

Thanks Jim. You pull out into the lead with two points for identifying two correct influences.
Scoring, influences seven points, singer-songwriter two points and one point for the theme for a total of 10.

Re: The Cub Hitty Band
Okay, total shots in the dark here:
Artist: a Vague Suspicion but No Real Idea [good group names, though!]
What song is about:
RAS ("red Ricks stacked")
Nasty Forum posts ("stones thrown")
Leaving the Forum ("one less number in the system")
Influences:
Tim Buckley
Thom Yorke
(and a bit of ) G Harrison

Re: The Cub Hitty Band
It sounds like his speaking voice but I don't dare guess that it's PW our curmudgeon?

Not the Curmudgeon, and hence no points yet.

Re: The Cub Hitty Band
Hmm... I found the vocals "Daltryesque" at times, which had the piece reminding me of The Who. My only other guess is that the artist in not American.
