Single That Never Was

Post by royclough »

In 1981 The Searchers were resigned to Pye records , the label that they had enjoyed their biggest hits on, now called PRT a single was released called I Don't Want To Be One (which is on of the videos on here).

There was also going to be an album and about 4 tracks were recorded for it, one of these was in fact the scheduled follow up single to I Don't Want To Be One.

Possibly due to poor sales of aforementioned, though a great record IMO, the album was shelved and so were any further releases.

Here is the follow up that never was Innocent Victim.

Thanks, Roy. 8) Seems like it would have been big on MTV.

A bit too much electronics (for me), but a great song anyway. Had they started with this one instead of "I don't want to be the one" (which is, in my opinion, closer to what they call "rubbish" than to what they call "great"), who knows?
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
