Little To Win But Nothing To Lose

Post by kenposurf »

The group took its name as an homage to the Beatles' Strawberry Fields Forever reportedly, at the suggestion of their record company Uni Records. The opening harmony to Incense And Peppermints reminds me of The Association.

Speaking of The Association...They played often at The Ice House in Pasadena, CA..always a great show :D :D :D

Yes, George and seemingly dressed up like Sgt. Pepper. A very interesting mix of musical styles here. I always found the vocals and instrumentation to be incongruous to some extent. It was certainly an attention getter in the day.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

George-I'm sure you've seen these, but maybe a few haven't.
Word is that they were never used in concert, but I could swear they played them in '66 when I saw them with the Beach Boys and Buffalo Springfield. Maybe my addled brain is playing tricks again.

These were up for sale awhile back, and the price wasn't bad, considering their provenance. E* Guitars, a shop in San Rafael (now defunct), had them on display.

Nowadays, though, they'd be unaffordable.

As some folks know, I own the SAC (Mark Weitz)1967 ELKA Panther Duo Deluxe organ. It was mint when I bought it; Mark took exemplary care of it. However, when it was shipped to me, it was badly damaged by FedEx Freight. I'm slowly acquiring the parts needed to restore it.
