The beauty of a 350/12V63

Post by voyager55 »

Hi,
I am new to this forum and had only one topic in the guitar section before - however I want to share this one - my first Ric - a 350/12V63.
Bought it 3 months ago used but in mint condition (manufactured in 2005) - Have fun !

Three glossy toasters - sound as they look
Image

Trapeze tailpiece, needs careful handling while restringing, octaves first into the grooves
Image

Headstock might look somewhat confusing - I love the way strings vanish into their machines
Image

The case and the beauty
Image

Just another body shot
Image

Look at those extended pole pieces - the real vintage
Image

and here's one of my favourite pics - scratch plate detached and flipped up, a macro shot :-) with some dust on the glossy finish
Image

Hope you've enjoyed viewing as much as I do playing ;-)

Cheers,
Peter

That extended pole piece shot is incredible, Peter.

Here's a hint:

I always have a can of "Dust-Off" and also a feather-duster with me when I shoot my projects.

Just before taking those photos, a quick spritz or swipe, clears those nasty dust motes. They are a distraction that can really spoil a really tremendous shot!

+1, Great pics! 8)

I'm gonna have to try for some of those artsy, dramatic shots one of these days...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Hi :) ,

many thanks for all the kind responses !
Especially for hints how to make it even better - keeping away the dust - I have to take more care next time ;) was too excited then.

I am sure there will be some follow up's of a new 4003 Fireglo bass very soon - need more sun over here

Have fun !

Dust is a major PITA, especially with Jetglo and chrome.

Harry, I see you are a new member to the Forum the last few days and wanted to welcome you on board. Good luck on your search for your first dream Ric !!!

Since you live in the Southern California area, I would mention that we have quite an active community of Ric enthusiasts locally and we get together every couple of months for a Mini Confluence Ricken Jam Session at a convenient location in O.C. and you are welcome to attend and meet and greet forum members and participate. :D :D

You can check out pictures and comments and stuff from our February Mini Con Jam here:
