TORNADOS

Post by royclough »

I'll stand corrected but I don't think there has been a mention of Tornados on here, scandalous really they were first UK group to top the charts in US.

Everyone's heard Telstar so here is their first ever single whicH I happen to think is better.

As an aside don't know if one of the trendy bands around today Muse are well know in USA but my grandson tells me they are awesome. They certainly fill large venues

The lead singer Matt Bellamy is the son of George Bellamy who was in The Tornados

Teisco Del Rey (Dan Forte) covered the Tornados second US release, "Ridin' the Wind" on his CD "The Many Moods of Teisco Del Rey" playing a Guitorgan.

What is interesting, well it is to me, is that
1. Ridin' The WInd was not a single in UK yet one of the best things they did, was originally issued on a EP (remember them) called Sounds Of The Tornados
2. For the US single releases effects were added at beginning which are not on UK version, here's the US version

Recommend Telstar The Movie if was released in US may be at your local blockbuster.
