Not mastered the transfer of VHS to digital yet, cannot get audio to work when transfering, finally seem to have mastered the transfer of video, may have faulty converter,(I know poor workman always blames his tools) so added the audio, bit of a rarity this so hope you Searchers fans like it.

Thanks for this one Roy haven't heard it in quite a while. A really lovely song with the Searchers at their harmonic best, a top version of I think a song originally done by the Drifters but covered by such diverse artists as Van Morrison and Nazarath

There's a mix of this on the 40th anniversary CD which does not have the strings, just the vocal, piano, and Chris' drumming. I actually like that one better, the song sounds more intimate that way.

If memory serves I belive the Moody Blues (then with Denny Laine) had a single of this song out right at the same time the Searchers released their version as a album track.

The Escorts also did a nice version of the song that was released in 1965 as a single on Fontana. It didn't chart.

I had completely forgotten about the Escorts version, which I am lucky enough to have on an Edsel Records compilation called "From The Blue Angel". Obviously a lot of people in the UK liked the song although nobody had a really big hit with it (I think the Moodies version made the UK Top 40).
