AC30 HWH Marshall Limited Edition 2003

Post by k43rover »

I just picked up a 2003 Marshall built AC30 genuine hand wired Head/Cab - see pics. This was the final special model built before Korg transferred production from England to China. It's genuine turret board not the pcb "HWH" produced subsequently in China and c/w a cab with blues. I have owned a few '60's JMI Vox amps and also had a mid '90's Marshall built AC30/6 TBX - for me, the tone on this one beats all the ones I have owned or heard to date. The on-board valve reverb is also excellent. As far as I can tell, it's built like a tank. I haven't had chance to sample one, but if the newly launched range of Chinese built turret construction AC30's come close to this Marshall build in performance and quality, I suspect they will be value for money even at the high launch prices...
