+1! Health is always the most important thing, so take good care of yourself, Jon! :D

I will be missing SCARF by 2 days :( I am going to Vegas to attend Blackhat and Defcon security conferences this year, I'll be in vegas from July 29th to Aug 7th, I can try and cut the last day and arrive to LA at the night of the 6th, Any chance for a post SCARF minicon on the 7th??? It's very sad for me to miss SCARF but since my work is sending me to these conferences I can't just skip one of them :(
Gil, let us know when you're coming. I can't say for sure, but there might be a day after SCARF (the 7th) thing going on, like a brunch or whatever. It has been hinted at, but not discussed any length or detail yet. A mini-jam that day might be possible. Even if you came after the weekend is over, a post event mini-jam in the evening is possible during the week. We've done it before because forumites who had traveled from afar were in the area, we'll do it again! :)
Yup; we've done two jams in one week before. . . . it was a bit nuts, but this is Southern California, so we're used to that sort of thing. . . . .

Sorry you won't be able to make it, Jon. I hope your knee continues to improve. A couple of years back I worked with a fellow who had knee replacement surgery--it took him a few months to recover but you could see the improvement in his gait from week to week. Hang in there.

As for BARC...I hope we can do something this year.
If it is to be, it is up to me.

Definitely would be a fun event to have another Bay Area Ric Confluence. Keep us advised, as I'm sure several of us might enjoy Barc-ing up that tree. :)

I received the Long After Dark songbook in the mail last Saturday.

If anyone in interested in chords for anything off that one Damn the Torpedoes or Hard Promises, I have complete songbooks to all three albums.

If you are unsure what songs are on these albums, here are the track listings, those bolded are the ones I HOPE we can touch:

Damn the Torpedoes
Refugee (I'll have the keyboard player for it)
Here Comes My Girl
Even the Losers
Shadow of a Doubt (A Complex Kid)
Century City
Don't Do Me Like That (see "Refugee")
You Tell Me
What Are You Doing In My Life
Louisiana Rain

Hard Promises
The Waiting
A Woman in Love (It's Not Me)
Nightwatchman
Something Big
Kings Road
Letting You Go
A Thing About You
Insider
The Criminal Kind
You Can Still Change Your Mind

Long After Dark
A One Story Town
You Got Lucky
Deliver Me
Change of Heart
Finding Out
We Stand a Chance
Straight Into Darkness
The Same Old You
Between Two Worlds
A Wasted Life

Reading what JH said, if I appeared to hog the stage, I'm sorry, but if someone was playing a Petty song, and I happened to be within shot of the stage, they'd call me up to sing. At least that's what I remember, I was called up to sing two different versions of "Breakdown", plus "Listen to Her Heart" and backups on "I Need to Know".

It's up to Rich if he wants to have another "Jake and Friends" contingent, of course.

TO RICH: You saw Mick Jagger, would you like to see Elvis this year?

That jumpsuit needs a cape, Jake. And I'd recommend buying one of these and gettin' busy:

Would love to attend the 7th annual SCARF, but I'll be stuck here in Cleveland, Ohio, this August. Rich, will you please give me the full report when you get back?

Larry Davis said he's going to make it out from Georgia this year.

Our SCARF "out of town" guest list is growing!

Keep 'em coming :)
