I just bought a brand new G6119 1962FT this week and love it through and through. The only thing is the case seems extremely deep, like as if it were meant for a 6120. How deep is a reissue 6119 1962 case supposed to be?
The case I have is 5.5" when closed (not including the arch in the top). Is this just a little too big? Thanks! Chris

It is a little too big, but it's the right case -- standard issue. The 6119 thinline you have is 3/4" thinner than the 6120 (2 v. 2.75") but Gretsch currently uses the "one size fits all" approach with cases for its 16" semihollows. They are all the same size. As long as your 6119 is snug in there, I wouldn't worry about it.

I bought the same RI case for my `65 Tenny b/c the original disintegrated. It works great!

Hey Chris,
I'll take "the case" off your hands for $100... if ya throw in the guitar!
(I have the same guitar / case. I just threw in an old sweatshirt/bluff cloth to make a tighter fit)
Is currently one of my fav players at the moment! (Too many to choose from).
This one yours?
John
