Dylan, Petty and Others File for Song Copyrights

The Recording Artists Coalition have filed papers with the U.S. Copyright Office to regain their rights to recordings put our 35 years ago. Apparently some proviso takes effect in 2013, and the artists have to apply two years in advance (i.e. now) to get control of their Masters put out 35 years prior.
Sounds good to me if the artists can succeed against the music industry Goliath.
