"Inappropriate Rickenbacker 325 Action" by Richie Castellano
I've mentioned on this forum a few times that I have had the great pleasure of making the acquaintance of one Richie Castellano, who I can safely say is the best guitar player (and all-around musician) I have ever come across. He’s also a really great, humble, hilarious guy (check out “Tiger’s Fang”, his Kung Fu movies).
I had the fortune of teaching guitar lessons right across the hall with him for three years, and I think I spent more time learning from him then teaching my own students.
He’s been doing guitar/keys/vocals (formerly bass) in Blue Oyster Cult for almost 10 years (he is also one of the finalists for the Queen Extravaganza), and when he’s on the road he plays Music Man guitars. But being a Beatles fanatic, he’s also a big fan of Ricks and has some cool guitars and basses, including a 1990 325v59, which was one of his first guitars (he’s had it since new). We’re always joking around about that guitar, and I asked him to make a video of himself shredding on it.
He obliged. Enjoy.

Can't be! Rickenbackers are non versatile strumming paddles.

Although it is not my style of music: GREAT! These guys are the real ambassadors of the bright spread versatility of a Rickenbacker! Thanks for posting.

YAHH!!!!
Richie smokes on that 325! Great attitude in the clip as well. I agree this needs to be kept handy for proof you can do anything on a Ric. And look great doing it!
Great clip, John! Thanks for sharing!

Although I don't like that sound I think it's great to see more proof that Rickies are as versatile as other brands!

Nice! I'm no shredder, but that's smoking hot playing!
I wonder what distortion he's using to get that level of saturation? I like it.
I've played Ozzie and BOC with Joey and rich at gigs, so I canrelate. . . I can't play that fast though!

There is no reason to ever be bored.
...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

That was incredibly awesome. And who said you can't shred on a Ric?

Yeah.....what everybody said vis-a-vis versatility. And yeah....this thread needs to be kept on file.

Paul: He is an Engl endorser but I would venture a guess that this is just Guitar Rig software into Pro Tools.

An acquaintance of mine has one of those 100 watt Engls in his bedroom, I can recommend it with a 360, or a 340... but somehow always makes me want to play Bryan Adams
