What an exquisite 360! I would leave the tuners - those are so cool. 8)

Yeah, the Irony of Grover working for Ric now. He's getting old like me! LOL

I don't know about the tuners, still trying to decide. They are nice, but just not "right". Oh well, small potatoes in the grand scheme of things!

Man, that 380L on ebay right now....not vintage but sure makes me drool. Wonder what his reserve is?

I'm sure you're right. I stopped at $1500. I don't like spending crazy money on newer stuff, but from what I've seen that should be worth more. I'm guessing he'll probably get at least 2K for it, but not from me.

Those tuners are "Super Rotomatics", not Imperials. Grover simply put the stepped buttons on Rotomatics.
Imperials have a larger string post, press fit bushings, 16:1 ratio, and large "box" gear housings....

Super looking guitar :-)

FWIW- I had an 89 381 that came with the Schaller Kluson copies. I put Super Rotomatics on with out any drilling and they looked very cool....

Update PC2121

Well, this deal went sour, so if PC2121 comes up for sale again beware. The seller was slow to ship this guitar and after a few days of communications and questions, he admitted that this guitar has had a broken neck/repair. He claimed he didn't realize it, but who knows. He did refund my money, so all's well there. I did some eBay research and found that when it was sold by ebay seller oliviasvintage back in July, the auction plainly stated it had a neck repair. I offered the seller a reduced price, but he refused. I'm just posting this in case this guitar comes back up for sale. I will request admin permission to update this info in the register.

Well, good that the deal fell apart. I couldn't see the neck repair from the photos.

Sad to see such an otherwise beautiful instrument screwed up like that. I offered the seller $1200 but was a no go. I look for it to pop back up on ebay.
Good news is I scored a SWEET '81 Mapleglo for a lot less money than I had paid for the '76. It's not the same, but it'll suffice.
