Does anyone know why pickofthericks.com has an ad saying "Ruby Red is Back Order Yours Now" on their homepage?!?

Look over at the NAMM 2012 thread on about page 19. I think you'll like what you see. 8)

The girl who shouldn't take her love to town? Or was that someone else?

Ruby looks great - waiting for pictures from the real world of the colour, though.

Do you really expect it to take a year to deliver a color that is now a standard offering? I know there is
usually a backlog of orders but wouldn't they have some runs of Ruby sooner than that?

Not really, I was actually just making a joke. I was told April or May optimistically, but to expect it to be up to 8 months for the 330's. Still excited, but after hearing stories about Rickenbacker's legendary backlog I'm not expecting the guitar any time soon.

Those have probably all been ordered and snapped up by dealers at NAMM, I imagine. :)
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

I have a 1989 Ruby 330 which must be near the end of the original run of Ruby finish. It would be interesting to see the new and old finishes together to see how close they match. Does Ruby tend to change tint with age, like a white becoming yellowed? I don't see any signs of that but I have only owned it a few years and don't know what it looked like new.

Very nice looking guitar! Did 330's have bigger headstocks in 89'?
