Adjusting pickups for 63 Country Gent

Post by mpdsal »

Greetngs.

First time poster.

I own a 63 Country Gent with original filtertrons. Are there any guidelines for setting the hieght of the pole pieces to maximize sound potential? I realize sound can be a subjective thing so I am looking for ballpark settings to at least get started. I read somewhere that the inner row of pole pieces are set as low as they can go for both pickups. Any truth to this?

I appreciate any input you have to offer.

Thanks

Mark: At the end of the day the adjustment is really all about the sound you hope to achieve. Some pickers have the posts for strings 1, 2, and 3 slightly higher to bring out the treble sound more while others do not. I found with my 6120 that slight changes to the height of the pickup as a whole yielded better results than changing individual pole pieces. Perhaps others will chime in here.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
