WOW  ......thanks for posting these superb pics, they have well and truly illuminated this part of Oxfordshire... :D :D :D This is THE dream guitar for many of us on this forum....I also personally prefer the earlier ones with the trapeze rather than the R....for me, this has gotta be the best post on the forum THIS YEAR SO FAR by a country mile...

...I can't get over how clean this one is...has the lovely early stubby nosed truss rod cover as well (like on Lennon's 325/12)...and that beautiful darker shade of '64 Fireglo....OMG this is Rickenbacker Heaven!! 8)

Thank you for your kind comments, Eddie....

It is a superb guitar, in remarkable condition. It sounds absolutely magnifique! And the best thing of all is that it is gigged regularly. So it is enjoyed by many!

Very nice guitar, Bruno. Your friend certainly has hit the jackpot and possibly owns THE Holy Grail. It's about as clean as Dave Rogers' 65 1993 that I took pictures of last November.

Here's my question: How does it play?? :?:

That is amazing that it is still being gigged with :D Let us all be truly thankful that Mr Townshend never got carried away with this beauty back in the '60's!!

Thanks Jake.

He has owned this guitar for about twenty years. I have actually seen it on many occasions before, but to my shame, it wasn't until I snapped a photo of it (on my phone) a couple of weeks ago, that I realised what it was!

As an aside - he actually owned a matching six string, as well!! But he sold that, some while ago - something he still regrets!

It's a dream to play.... and it really "rings" acoustically. Plugged in, it can only be described as THE Sound!

Thanks Bruno, it certainly brightened up my morning. It's definitely THE ultimate Rickenbacker, in my opinion. :)

Looks like it was played lefty at one point (extra strap button hole in lower horn)?

If its not already in there, your friend should really submit pictures and serial number to Bjorn Eriksson's http://www.RickBeat.com "1993 Inventory"

p.s. I'm with Eddie here---trapeze, stubby TRC = best spec 1993 there it. 8)

Having played yours and Dave's, I'd have to add a hearty +1 to that. :D
