The Deluxe would have a different headstock face & logo with an extra inlay, also double pearl dots on the fretboard, different body binding and neck binding, gold hardware too. Still thinking this was a V62 before the brown burst was applied. All the other features are pure V62.

It is probably just considered a one-off.

The Deluxe comes with brown pearloid binding as well. Due to this bass being intended for Paul to play, it is most likely a Deluxe body with the highest figure woods, bound as a standard model with white binding. The rest could well be '62 spec parts which would make sense, especially for Paul.

It is most definitely a unique look and it could not have been better timing for it to be played before the Queen.

Two Hofner officials have posted at the Hofner Hounds site identifying the bass as a V62 with the custom paint.

Just got some pictures through from Barnes & Mullins of the shipment which has now arrived. They have done a strange thing with the serial numbers, so No 1 is 101 and No 60 is 160. Nevertheless they look great and should be with us early next week. I'll take some better pictures when they do, but in the meantime here is a taster:

Just been authorised to publish that there will be a German version exactly as Macca played including (wait for it) Lefties :D

They will be here at the end of October. 60 worldwide right handed of which there will be 10 for UK at the moment. Not sure how many lefties.
