1973 Rickenbacker 4000 pickguard

Where can I get one? No, I don't have a template. Neither does Pickguardian.

Hmm, how different is it from other '73 4001 pickguards other than the, obviously, missing pickup hole?
Tony has made a few PGs for me for a couple different '73 4001s and they all fit just fine.

The location of the two control holes will be specific to a 4000. There are a few people with 4000's on the board, so I'm sure someone will speak up.

I forgot about the control holes! I have had Tony make me pickguards with no control holes so I can do what i want with them. The basic outline should be the same between a 4001 and 4000 PG from that era, right?

Close, but not quite. The volume is a little too low, and the tone is a little too far forward.

That is a gorgeous 4000. The inlays are like the ones in my 4001FL, except they have ambered quite a bit and look very cool.

Thought I'd throw mine into the mix with any others which appear. I've made this template up using my Fireglo '75 4000's pickguard and turned it into a jpg to attach it to the post (original is an Illustrator vector).
I've just stuck on a couple of dimensions as a guide to check if printed. If you want other dimensions put on or whatever, just let me know.

Actually I forgot to mention a couple of things in my last post (with my little drawing).
At the risk of stating the obvious - I've located the screw holes exactly as they are on mine - so I daresay they might not align on another 4000 (on mine, for example, the one nearest the bridge pickup is noticably closer to the edge than the one further down).
Oh, and just to be totally clear, the dotted lines are just meant to indicate where I've measured the couple of dimensions I've given - ie 145mm from the innermost bit of the curve on the left, to the opposite side and 288mm from the flat bit up beside the neck to the outer curve at the bottom end.

Why are you removing the extra pickup,etc? I have a 74 4000 that was never routed for the 2nd pickup,but if it had already been routed,i wouldn't hesitate to put in a 2nd pickup.
Ps is your 4000 a set-neck?
