Vinyl MMT Paint Job?

Post by eddied »

Is anyone capable of making a vinyl stick-on type of Paul's paint job to put on a FG V63? I bet if it can be done, lots of guys would buy one to use as a decoration or to put on their Rick's during Beatle sets and such. I'd love to have one to use. I got a beautiful Red Rose Speedway s vinyl sticker to put on my 4003SB like Paul had during 73-74 andit looks awesome. Anyone have any leads? My 84 V63 is waiting to be fitted with one.

Neat idea. But this will work only for newer Rics. Older models had slightly different body shapes each year. And I'm not sure that doing a MMT mask just for the v63/c64 models has a big enough market. Maybe an oversize mask that each owner trims to the exact contour of their Ric?

Very good point. Making a generic size that can be cut with to fit would be a perfect idea. basically, and extra inch all the way around would probably do it. Anyone here able to do that kind of artwork? The transfer to thin sticker type vinyl is all that would be needed. Come on, someone step forward........... I'll buy 2.

It could be an oversized sleeve that you slip over the body and then shrink to size with your hair dryer! That way it doesn't matter what body style you have!

Remember to remove your strings first, the rest of the stuff doesn't matter!

I saw something like that years ago on eBay. The bass they placed it on in the photo was a 4003. IIRC, he had a disclaimer saying it could damage the finish. Anyway, that was a few years ago.

So the question remains. Does anyone have access to getting or making the MMT vinyl sticker? I wish that I had the knowledge or talent to make some. But I don't.

My point was that eBay was the only place I ever saw something like what you are describing.
