I never posted my impressions. We saw Yes at Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant MI at the outdoor venue. It was a cooler sunny day and perfect for an summer outside concert. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. It was so great to hear The Yes Album and Close To The Edge complete. They played all songs with a mastery of familiarity, even though only Chris and Steve were the authors still on stage. The first song, CTTE, started out a little rough, but not because of the boys; the PA was getting levels adjusted at the start. Awaken was a tad rough, IMO, which was sad for me as that was the one song I really waited for and wanted perfect. All in All, I was SO glad Jeff pushed me to attend and I could still get tickets.

My best story of the trip - Irene and I were leaving through the lobby and as I neared a pillar to turn for the doors, I sensed someone hurrying to my left and glanced at him. Some old guy cutting the inside. I did a double take when I saw it was Steve Howe! "Hi Steve!" he never slowed and called back "Hi!" I then said "Great concert last night!" and still he never slowed but looked back with a smile and said "Thanks!" I'm sure he did not want to get mobbed in the lobby and that was fine. He was also late getting started down to Indy. Outside, a few standing near the SUV he was getting in called to him and he answered politely, but never slowed getting his coat in the back and getting in the front. Wonder who the guy was driving? Agent?

I thought it was Chris who was always running (literally in this case) late?

Great audio quality on the video. It did take a long time to fully load, though. :?

iPhone 4, so thanks. The file is 254MB. It would take a bit. I could upload most of Awaken but then I'd have to kill you.

Very nice, thanks for the share! JD really is sounding very strong and confidant now,and i think he may even have spurred Chris to be in top voice,he seems to be singing really well, too.

I agree Woody! It seems like Chris and Jon have an excellent relationship. Jon clearly looks up to The Man. The exchanges of smiles and laughs between the two on stage are very nice to see.

Yes, I thought that too about Chris' singing as I listened that night. The best I've heard him sing live in a long time. JD was indeed confident, singing the songs easily and with feeling, and being well-received by the audience.

When we saw Yes at the Rock Hall for the Legends show, I felt that Jon's singing was a bit stiff on the TFTO material he and Steve performed but the following night, at the concert, Jon sounded very much like Jon, so to speak. 8)

Just thought you may like to hear that Jon Anderson is in fine voice....and humour.
We went to watch him do a very intimate solo show in the round at The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester a fortnight ago.
I particularly liked the story of Vangelis telling Steve Howe at rehearsal that "You know the electric guitar is not a real musical instrument"..!!!
Anyway enjoy the shows and best wishes to Yes but it was a huge reminder to me of what is missing from Yes even though they are
working hard at the tour with Jon Davidson on vox.
