That's a shocker! RIP Alvin.

Re: RIP Alvin Lee
Sad news indeed...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: RIP Alvin Lee
For me that was the best live guitar solo ever! Alvin was waaaaaayyy ahead of his time at Woodstock.BuddyDog wrote:Still can't get over his Woodstock performance.

Never, ever drool on your surf shirt. It wrecks the solo.

Wow, what a shock.
I pull out the Woodstock dvd once a year just to see him do "Goin' Home." Amazing technique and stamina. Truly a legend.
Rock on, buddy. Sad news indeed.

About twice a year in my house. Alvin was head and shoulders above. He was scary good.libratune wrote:Wow, what a shock.

Re: RIP Alvin Lee
"Routine Surgery" is fast becoming an oxymoron.
Very sad news. RIP Alvin, and condolences to his survivors. May his soul rest in Peace.
(We covered his "Baby Won't You Let Me Rock & Roll You" back in the day. GREAT song, and still the first bass line I play during warm-ups.)

Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

Sad to hear that he has passed away. RIP, Alvin.

Re: RIP Alvin Lee
I feel awful. He was my bosses favorite performer for the last 45 years. I broke the news to him and he left work early because of it. He's met him, exchanged e-mails & such and has been friends with the president of his fan club for 30 years. Cricklewood Green on repeat tonight. Way ahead of his time.

I read this Wednesday on Premier Guitar. Sad news indeed.
