I have an old Rickenbacker amp that is either an RG or RB series looking for any info. It has the typical yellow graphics of an RG series with gain, volume, and active eq, no reverb and has 2, 8" speakers. I have tried it with 10 and 12" speakers and have decided that replacing the baffle is the way to go. The serial number is V0 0006882 and nothing comes up. There is no model number to identify it. If someone knows anything before I start modifying it please let me know.

Welcome, Andrew! 8)

Posting some photos would go a long way to helping with IDing it.

Trying to download pictures again! Success! The speakers are not the ones originally that were installed they sounded terrible so i gutted
some Fender Frontmans and now it sounds better.
If anyone knows what I have before I start "customizing" please let me know. My stage amp is a RG15 it replaced a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 50 with a 1960a cab.
I use a Tr7 for "Money" and as a practice amp.

This looks to me like an RG60 without the reverb knob on the front panel. There are a few on the Register: http://www.rickresource.com/register/in ... celebrity=

Here's one:

Thanks for the help. II am going to install either an Eminence or a Celestion 8ohm speaker and then see if I like it as much as my RC15.
If not to Ebay it goes.

The SN should not include the two zeros. So VO 6882. Which suggests that it was made in 1982.. It is more likely YO 6882 - I don't think that model was being made in 1982 - but certainly by 1985! The RIC logo came with John Hall's purchase of the company from his dad in 1984.

My RG15 (in the Register) has two leading zeros in its serial number (ZY 005626). The "date code" thing also doesn't pan out for mine, too ... it wasn't made in 1926!

John Hall - (on the RIC Corporate forum) - was the person who explained that you need to delete the two zeros for Amplifier SN's to make sense by the SN decoding system.

If you do that you get an accurate date for the amps manufacture..
