Close up picture of Roger's Ric on this blog post. This is a great site for anyone who grew up in the 60s and 70s.

It doesn't ring a bell. I'll check it out next time we see each other.
Re: Deep Purple
You'd have remembered it. Guess I sold it before we met.

I'm going to see them live for my first time in August in Windsor Canada! Hope Roger plays the Rick!

This is a recent pic of Roger Glover.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: Deep Purple
Does he have an EMG in the neck slot?

Looks like one.....
Do not drink from the toilet when taking Lyrica
Re: Deep Purple
Unfortunately, no Rick in sight!teeder wrote:I'm going to see them live for my first time in August in Windsor Canada! Hope Roger plays the Rick!
(On a side note: Steve Morse reminded me why I hated '80's metal guitar playing)
Re: Deep Purple
Glover brought out the Rick a few tours ago. Steve Morse 80's metal? That's the last thing I think of. For me he's more of a virtuoso trying to one up himself every night. Sometimes he can be repetitive but I can't think of anyone who could have filled Blackmore's shoes and have stuck with it for the past 20 years.
Re: Deep Purple
That's a shame,i remember seeing him with the Dixie Dregs, and later, just the Dregs, and he was fantastic, one of the few rock guitarists i put on Steve Howe's level of virtuosity, melodicism, and compostional skills.teeder wrote:Unfortunately, no Rick in sight!teeder wrote:I'm going to see them live for my first time in August in Windsor Canada! Re: Deep Purple
To me, he was pure noise. I would have loved to rip that whammy bar of his guitar. That's all I heard for the whole show. No thanks!
Re: Deep Purple
IMO DP, who were one of my favourite bands, don't exist without Blackmore. I don't rate either Bolin or Morse trying to fill those shoes.

Re: Deep Purple
I loved Morse in Dixie Dregs but don't like his tone in Deep Purple. I would think that I'm just too used to Blackmore's but while I didn't like the tunes on "Come taste the band" I liked Bolin's tone. Go figure!
