Martin Gordon is back in Rickenlicious form

Post by Captain Bob »

I was fortunate enough to acquire an advance copy of Martin Gordon's latest offering , Gilbert, Gordon and Sullivan. It will be officially released in April 2016.

Martin has 4003 in hand, harkening back to his stentorian 'Kimono my House' playing for Sparks on their 1st lp. It's a great romp thru G and S's more finer compositions, re-imagined for modern instrumentation. There are some YT clips from several months ago as well.

Very nice stuff, Capt'n. I'd never heard of this guy before, but thanks so much for sharing it with us!

Indeed! Martin had seen one of my posts (I think to the corporate forum way back when) and we emailed a bit. I still get his periodic email blasts. I'd heard that he'd gotten a hold of a Ric again. "Barbicutie" (recorded during Kimono, but it didn't make it on originally) has a great Ric opening.
