Tube amp landfill find- identify?
Picked this up at the local landfill today. No makers marks on it- any guesses?
Re: Tube amp landfill find- identify?
Looks home built, maybe even the amp chassis, too.
Re: Tube amp landfill find- identify?
I'm thinking home built also, with the amp maybe pulled from another use. The speaker has date codes so I'll start there. The tubes seem really old also.
Re: Tube amp landfill find- identify?
Yeah, metal can tubes. Be careful about that transformer with the exposed taps on the end of the bell, and the tube next to it with the top plate connection!
Re: Tube amp landfill find- identify?
Speaker code is an obscure company Bliley from Erie PA with year code 0, so 50 or 60. Old school plug but the fuse is not blown- do I dare
Re: Tube amp landfill find- identify?
You may want to use a variac and bring up the AC slowly over a period of time as it most likely has not been turned on in a long time; this is for capacitor (and your ) safety. If you are concerned about any problems when plugging the amp into an AC outlet have a friend do it for you.

Re: Tube amp landfill find- identify?
My guess still is an amp from an organ.

My plans have been foiled

What'd I say?
Re: Tube amp landfill find- identify?
I'm leaning toward the homemade theory. Either that or a small company which went out of business very quickly due to killing too many customers.
I'd suggest powering it up from a distance through a big ol' Frankenstein-looking blade switch - just for effect.
