Cool. I didn't know about The Leaves. Their Wiki entry makes great reading.

Their original hit version of Hey Joe is stellar. Hendrix' sounds like a mashup of Tim Rose's tempo and the Leaves arrangement and bass line. The video I'm most familiar with features a Hofner violin bass so I was surprised to see this pic. Who knows, they could have been at the promo shoot with the guitars handed to them by their manager. As most bands were from that time, their choice of instruments (at least in the picture) shows a Beatles influence. In that shot, a Rick "round body" 360 (can't tell if it is a 12 or 6), Gretch Country Gentleman, and Rick 4001. And if he had a Höfner 500/1, then ditto!
