Yet another tailpiece question..

Hi all,
It's been some time since I last posted something on this forum, but still perfectly happy with my 4001C64. Except..
It has taillift. Always had a little, but now it's come to a point where I believe that the break angle behind the bridge causes the strings to go "out of phase", for a lack of better terms.
Recently, I bought a 70's tailpiece + bridge (and foam) as a replacement for said bridge, but it's a 5-screw one. So, my question is: would it hurt to only use the three screws + holes that are in the C64? I don't want to make extra holes in it, plus the 5-screw bridge didn't come with any and I don't know the exact measure of 'em.
Any suggestions on how I could fix this without replacing stuff are also welcome!
(Disclaimer: I looked all over the forum to see if there was a similar question regarding using the 5-screw tailpiece as a 3-screw, but I couldn't find any. So, if there's a thread I didn't see; please let me know. )
