It's Been Eight Years

Eight years since the purchase of my last Rick, which was a Ruby 4004Cii that was displayed at the 2012 Winter NAMM Show.
I just received a new 4003S/5. JETGLO, of course! JETGLO ROCKS!
I've wanted one since playing the prototype two years ago. I've just spent the past couple of hours playing it. I'm in love!
The haters can hate the looks of the pickups, but can only wish their Rick sounded this good. These pickups are awesome! The neck is very comfy.

There's been a FG 4003S/5 at my local SA for a few months, now. Played it a couple of times, very nice bass, and great tone.
You JG looks great, Joey.
I love the "pebbly" look to the finish on the body
(yeah, I know it
s just the reflection of the ceiling texture), very unique.

Excellent, Joey - congrats!
I could tell you were digging Jonathan's 5-string at the jam last week, glad you scored one of these.

People are calling them "Dorito" pickups, works for me! I think they'd look cool as hell with chrome covers, but they sound great anyway. Salsa anyone?

I hate that
ceiling! One of these days...
Anyway, maybe it can inspire a few new guitar finishes like, Rocky Road, Tracks in the Mud....or Tony and CJ's version of JETGLO ROCKS.
Especially if people from Fender see the pics.

Joey, please keep us posted. I appreciate your comments on the pickups. Congratulations. Not too long ago the five string Rickenbacker bass did not seem that likely. Thanks to the Factory for pushing this model forward.

I had a pinball machine in my high school days (Gottlieb's Flipper Clown) so Flipper pickups work for me.

This is what a 5 string bass guitar should sound like!
Thank you, Peter.
Funny. I don't solo the neck pickup on a bass guitar very often, but I keep wanting to hear it soloed as much as I do the bridge pickup. Superb work by Ben, Richard Cannata and the rest of the crew at RIC!
Hey haters...
