Probably a silly question, but what's up with the guard on the bass 2nd from the left?

I don't know; most likely something that owner wanted for whatever reason, or he had gotten the bass already with that pickguard on it. :?

How about a third pickup in the middle position?

That was my bass - as I recall, there was a crack running between the pickups and the large pickguard was covering it up. Note that in the photo, it is also fretless. Dale fixed it up and it was an absolutely stellar bass!

I've never gotten the opportunity to play one, but maybe that will change now.

Nice looking basses. I've never been a big fan, but I admire them for their history. Great to see RIC stretching out a bit. :D

I hope they will be available in Europe also, but can not find them on any mayor site (yet?).

According to a dealer that I contacted, they'll be released in the US summer. Probably @ US$5K.

That is the list price. Dealers are taking orders now for under $4K.

I’d like to personally thank Rickenbacker for this reissue! I have an order in place!
Thank you!

Anyone know of a Rickenbacker dealer near Richmond, VA, who is decent to deal with?
