Ben Hall posted another photo of a Fireglo one in his stories last week - but no information along with it. 🤔

Thanks.
That's the only finish I'd be interested in.

Now available to order. 4005V. Just V. New single double-action rod and a narrower skunk stripe. Same thinner neck profile as the newer 4003's but it has the same inlays as the 4005XC.

The pickups are in the less than ideal space, and the pickguard looks awkward . This was always a great body shape in search of refinement. I’d be into it if it added some modern corrections.

Hi Folks,

Any suggestions for Dealers that'd take an order from, and ship to Australia? I'm not sure if I can afford it, but if I don't ask I'll never know.

Cheers,
Andrew

Wow. Complaints already. Like, knock off with the negative waves, man. Some people have been clamoring for the return of this model. Probably not many, but let's allow them their opportunity to be satisfied after decades of longing.

Agreed Paul. Personally I think the pickups may be at an optimum location for a very wide range of sounds ..... but to each their own.

The real questions - availability, how and when available, price...

The pickup spacing seemed to work just fine for me for the 38 years I had my 4005WB, for gigs and recording projects. :D Not a single person I ever came across had anything negative to say about that bass.

Here's a few 4005s, who's owners didn't have complaints regarding theirs.

I’d love to hear one of these through a modern rig. I tried the XC through my buddy’s Darkglass before and if that is any indication then the full scale 4005 is going to sound amazing. That pickup spread, ROS and the blend knob are going to provide huge total possibilities. I can’t play a 34” due to permanent nerve damage on my pinky but I’m glad these are back for those who can!

If you want a pickup in a different location, go for it. There's plenty of room for another. And another. And another...
