NEW RIC DAY!!!!!! 620 Content

Post by Dirtyclinic »

I had a Fireglo 620 in the late 90s when I was in an active local band. I sold it when I was strapped for cash around 2006. Today I received a brand new 620 after being on the backorder list at Sweetwater for over a year. Here it is.

Looks awesome!

I'm about 10 months out on my mapleglo and fireglo wait!

I got offered a mapleglo, but no word on the fireglo yet.

A gorgeous instrument. How do you like the neck?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I’m also curious about the necks on the 2023s. Do tell!

Specs say it’s narrower than a 650d, but I don’t think it’s the broomstick neck of yesteryear…

If it’s remotely similar to an old 7.25” radius telecaster neck width, I’m thinking I’ll be super happy with mine.

Mine arrives tomorrow.

In recent years there seems to be more variation in depth of the neck carve while the width of the fretboard has stayed consistent for a given model. 620s from a few years back seemed to have pretty “deep” necks, but I did read somewhere that the newer builds are a bit more slender front-to-back. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts once you have one in hand. As a wise man said, “the waiting is the hardest part” :D

Very nice - congrats! I am glad to see that the fretboards are finished again. Your 620 is one reason why.
