The Do It Yourself "Astro"

Post by admin »

Mark: I am wondering if you ever assembled an "Astro". I am gathering that these "do it at home" models never really caught on. Have you ever heard one?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I have only seen two and they were completed and in the used areas of stores.
Neither was assembled very well and they were of no particular interest to me.

The worst of assemble USA made guitars were better.

This is not saying that the parts were not well made ,just a ,dare I say it ...Rickenbackers own Danelectro copy.

Not really very interesting other than as an historical item.
So you too want yours "ALAPWOB"?!?!

Let's also note that there is no reference whatsoever on the guitar or packaging to associate it with Rickenbacker or Electro String. All of them were sold through department stores during the Christmas Season.
