The Iron Door was founded by Mr. Geoff Hogarth and Mr. Harry Ormesher on April 9, 1960. In recognition for its contribution to Liverpool, the City has awarded the Iron Door a Blue Plaque to commemorate the beginning of the "Sound That Conquered The World."

The unveiling of the Blue Plaque will take place on Saturday April 9, 2005 at 3:30 pm at 13 Temple. Don't miss the reception celebrating the event at Sam's bar, Tithebarn Street following the ceremony.

This is your chance to celebrate with the original owner of the Iron Door and to be entertained and speak with well-know local performers who where there when the Club opened 45 years ago.
