Dave Dee 1943 - 2009

Post by royclough »

Sadly another 60s star has passed away today Dave Dee of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich.

They did not have any success in States but had 13 top 30 chart entries including a number one here in UK.

Here is a good clip of DD recently and also performing in 68 what turns out to be not only my favourite of theirs but Dave's too.

A sad but memorable post, Roy. While virtually unknown in North America, it is easy to see why this group was so successful in the UK. Dave Dee's voice is outstanding on Last Night In Soho. Perhaps you could read our fortunes once again with regard to a couple of gems that we missed along the way.

Sad news indeed Roy. As you know we covered one of their songs in the 60's for the Canadian market. The news of his passing therefore has special significance for me. Thanks for letting us know about this.

I saw Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich live last year and although Dave was fighting his health problems he never let it show and he was in fine form. Glad that I got to see him but he definitely will be missed.
