- Summary: Originally a 365 OS converted to 12-string by headstock mod; evidence of other mods, filled holes for middle PU, routes under bridge and neck PUs filled.
From seller: This listing is for a really cool but modified Vintage 1968 Rickenbacker Electric Guitar. This guitar started out it's life as a Rickenbacker model 365 six string guitar. At some point someone decided to convert the guitar to Harrison Specs and make it a model 360-12. They did a very good job and I will do my best to describe this as best I can. The guitar has some other modifications and non original features as well. To convert this from a 6 string to a 12 string the hardest part was modifying the headstock on this part they did a very good job. While period correct tuners we're used and all the tuners on the guitar now are vintage Rickebacker tuners it appears the guitar had other non original tuners on it as well. The truss cover was slightly narrowed to accommodate the extra strings. There are also some modifications to the pickups and the placement of the pickups. There are some filled holes where it appears maybe a 3rd middle pickup was added and then removed and the routes under the toaster pickups have been modified. It's possible that the original two pickups were just moved closer together, as opposed to a 3rd pickup being added but either way there are some filled screw holes visible on the top between the two pickups and under the pickups there is some non original routing. The pickups are original vintage Rickenbacker Toaster pickups and the pots all date to 1967 so I believe they are all original. The tailpiece on the guitar is a period correct tailpiece but not original to the guitar. The top part of the pickguard is also not original and is a repro pickguard.
