- Noticed for sale at Bass Northwest, where they said: "Here is an excellent sounding used vintage fretless bass that would make a nice addition to any bass collection. This one is a U.S. handbuilt Rickenbacker 4001 fretless model that was built in 1976 (serial number: PI 6564). The bass features a top bound Maple body with a clear high gloss finish. The 33.25" scale bound Maple neck-through design has a Pau Ferro fretless fingerboard with great growl. The pickups are the passive Rickenbacker "single coil" type and there are mono and stereo output jacks for mono or stereo operation. The bass has that classic aggressive Rickenbacker tone that helped to give many great bass players (Paul McCartney, Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, Lemmy & others) their signature sound. This bass is in great condition, comes with a gigbag and is on sale for only $2399.00"
