[Edit 2.26.24] The guitar bearing this jackplate was originally registered as a Fireglo model 365 with Van Ghent tuners.

The EB340 jackplate/SN was found on a guitar offered as a 360-12 OS in this listing: https://trcrandall.com/collections/instruments/products/1965-rickenbacker-360-12-fireglo?fbclid=IwAR0eAoyhW790LH-mnJ8R_zM_QNaBzp0fmT0uoZiGHizg74iNpG9iHHwUlOQ

There are reasons to suspect that not only is this a 'donor' jackplate but other features of the guitar make it possible that this is a 'parts guitar' or partially fabricated reproduction.
Following is commentary by a group expert in Rickenbacker guitars of this era:

"Here we have a listing for a '1965 360/12 O.S. in Fireglo' and at first glance it looks spectacular. Then you start looking in more detail. The TRC is from a '68-72 model, half the tuners are Gibson Klusons, and most alarmingly - it appears to have a two-piece body (a feature that didn't appear until the very end of 1966). The color is also distinctly different from the dark red shade you usually find in '64 and early '65. In fact, this one is more like a '67 than anything.
Then to really get into the details, the headstock octave channels lack the oval-shaped routes underneath each tuner shaft - a feature that disappeared by 1966 and should absolutely be on a February 1965 12-string. [See photos with a comparison to my all original Feb. 65 Rose Morris 1993 headstock, to understand what I'm referencing]. Yes, this is absolute trainspotting forensics, but it matters when we’re talking a $29k price tag."
