     1966 Rickenbacker! Body and most parts are original, but the neck has been replaced. The original neck was shattered and a new neck was luthiered for the guitar. It does not have any name/brand markings on it, but appears to be well constructed, but there is no truss rod. The frets show that the guitar has seen many more miles since the neck replacement. The original '66 Ric body does not appear to have been damaged, with just some age checking and some minor playmarks, and the neck pocket looks nice and clean(pic). The strap button on the treble horn has been slightly moved. The body is stamped in the control cavity as a 345 D. To me, it appears to be a 330, as the 345 is normally a 3 pickup guitar. Could it have been a special order 345 Double pickup, instead of a 3 pickup? I suppose, as there was definitely never a third pickup in this guitar. The original jack plate dates the guitar to December 1966. The pickups are original as is the electronics cluster. The guard is the original with a crack on one end, and it is missing the spacers in-between the two layers. The 'R' tailpiece is original, as is the bridge. Tuners are non-original older Schallers. Overall this is a very cool and funky guitar. The vintage parts alone are worth more than the opening price. No reserve. Ships in it's original silver exterior/blue interior hardshell case that shows it's age, but is still solid and useable.
