Numbers of SN ground off
Rickenbacker 4001 bass in the mapleglo finish. Overall bass in good condition and plays and sounds great. However, some small wear to note: some idiot prior to me filed off the serial number so it's impossible to date the instrument. It's clearly a 4001 so it's latest early 80's. My hunch based on sound is that it's mid-late 70's but who knows? Two of the decals on the knobs have fallen off, not a big deal and could be replaced if you are concerned. Also came to me without the bridge pickup pickup guard (that heavy metal cover that goes over the PU presumably to rest your hand on it). That's also replaceable if it's a big deal.
Comes with a hard shell case. No idea if it's original. Insides show some wear but still quite usable. Also comes with a fresh set of strings - take your pick of D'Addario or Ernie Balls. Lastly, I made a homemade Rick-o-sound splitter if you want to use the stereo position. It works great and is a total blast to have two amps pumping away.
