    I think it is more likely U1 xxxx - from 1998

    a 1980's Rickenbacker 620/12 in very good to excellent condition. White finish has yellowed to a beautiful cream color. Upgrades include Gold guards & TRC, Toaster pickups and 12-saddle bridge. Looks, sounds and plays great! Electronics and truss rods are fully functional. A few dings and scratches, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 30-year old guitar. Serial # UL- on Rick-O-Sound jackplate. Comes with Rickenbacker factory blue-lined case.
