- SN written in body cavity identifies as MA331.
"1973 Rickenbacker 4001 with Checkerboard binding. Everything looks to be original except tuners, pick-guard, and truss rod was replaced. Had small separation between fret-board and neck ( professionally glued back together and new truss rod was installed), small separation near the E string tuner. Action is low and plays very nice and easy, feels great playing it. Frets still have lots of life left in them and fret-board is in good condition. Comes with the original hardshell case that is presented in photograph ( two latches are broke). "
