     ULTRA RARE, 1958 Rickenbacker 335 'Capri' in ( 2 Tone Brown Sunburst) Autumnglo!!! Serial number 2V 134. It features the very rare elongated 'cats eye' sound hole, which wasn't really offered on production models, so I'd venture to say that this guitar could be an early prototype. Certainly VERY few were produced with this non 'regular production' feature; it is even possible that this could be the very 1st 335 Capri ever produced!! I have been collecting Rickenbackers for the last 25 years and have never seen another one of these (with these features) other than the one pictured in Richard Smith's 'Rickenbacker' book! In fact, this guitar could very well be the same 335 Capri prototype that's pictured in the center color section of this book!

    This guitar has never been modified or re-finished! All of the hardware is original, as are the electronics! Even the rare 'Amber tip' switch tips are the ones that this guitar came with from the Rick factory!! The frets are original and have little wear. The neck is nice & straight with no issues and the action is nice & low. Original nut. Typical 1950's Rick guitar neck. Single truss rod. 1/8" 1 piece back. Original Grover tuners. This guitar was finished in Nitro Cellulous Lacquer, as the back of the guitar is heavily checked and there's also some light checking on the front. No belt buckle wear or 'rash' on the back, although there are various chips and light dings in the finish.
