- Seller emailed SN. Seller's story: This is an extremely Rare piece of Rickenbacker history. This is a one-of-a-kind 1972 Rickenbacker 381, in all original factory blue burst finish. I do not know of another like this in existence. It probably should be in a museum, but instead, I keep it under the bed.
This guitar was used by a Rickenbacker sales rep in the 70's as a showpiece to line up dealers for their line. This guitar was Purchased from the original owner who was a rep for the company at that time.
Besides the original blue burst finish, what makes this guitar exceptionally rare is the Phantom f-hole as seen in the pictures. I have never seen a guitar this color with the Phantom F hole. If there is another in existence, I would like to see it.
Again, this guitar is all original. It comes with the original case as well. A little belt rash on the back is all. No cracks or breaks..No stories!!
