- very rare "Old Style" 1963 Rickenbacker 360, 6 string electric guitar in Fireglo. This is a special guitar, it might be player grade (and priced as such) but we guarantee the collective "wow" that showed up on all of our faces when we picked this up and strummmed and open, unplugged E, will transfer on to the lucky buyer!
This is a true 6 string 360, serial number CM106, with pots also dating to 1963. The faded fireglo is beautiful, and other distinctive features include a top and back binding with non-contoured edges, triangle inlays, and 2 pickup configuration. The bi-level pickguard, knobs, and electronics are original, along with the original toaster pickups. Also has the original "R" tailpiece and bridge.
The maple/walnut neck is in good condition with some wear and scratches on the back but no major dings. The tuners were replaced with Grovers at one point. There are a couple spots on the fingerboard worn through the lacquer but nothing major. Frets show some wear but have some life left with no current dead spots or buzz. The guitar rings wonderfully unplugged and sounds ever better plugged in!
At one point, someone wanted to add a 3rd pickup, so the guitar has remnants of that, including several extra holes in the top, a maple block inside the guitar, and a route which currently has a metal plate covering it. There are several other extra holes on the guitar, including some under the pickguard. Likely all to accommodate the 3rd pickup which is no longer there. It has been recovered and again, all electronics are in their original state.
