#ISI2041, black Bakelite body with 5 white (now turned crème) color plates in excellent condition (the neck is bowed slightly but on a squareneck this does not matter), with original brown exterior HSC.

This has the large magnetic pickup that Rickenbackers have had, covered by twin (large) metal covers each held in place by a roundhole Phillips screw. The strings connect to a Bakelite tailpiece; tuners are unsigned Kluson Deluxe; strings mount from the back though six holes with no grommets - at least three of these holes are chipped (I told them to use grommets). The fingerboard (and squared neck)are Bakelite with molded-in frets, each fret surrounded by a crème line on each side. There are two old fashioned, black radio knobs on the lower treble side for volume and tone.

When we took the enclosed photos there was one missing dot on the fretboard. We have since replaced that missing inlay. I should point out, though, that all of the white dots above that inlay were painted white (nice job, one can't really tell from a few feet away) but that's how we got it. And we believe that the last inlay below the last fret is painted also. So now it has all its white dots and feels a great deal better.

The model BD was a variation on the Model B, made with a hinged, springed metal cover over the front of the headstock that has the "Rickenbacker" (with a "k") logo vertical and the word "Electro" horizontally, in a spear point shape. It has the compelling look of the mid-1930s, when the Electro model was first introduced, but with the added headstock cover that was popular in the 1950s.
