The Ric 480 has built up quite the following in recent years. Dismissed for a time as being a bolt on neck Ric, a new generation of players has discovered the cool looks and tones of these guitars. Sharing the same body shape as a 4001/4003 bass, the 480 is comfortable to play. The cresting wave body shape is appealing and will elicit several double takes from musicians as they wonder a “A 4001 guitar?” Dual Hi Gains pickups deliver trademark Ric tone. The classic R tailpiece, adjustable bridge (bridge cover in case) and Kluson tuners keep it rock solid. Burgundy-glo (I think) finish. One of the most unique Rics out there!
This Ric is fun to play and has good tone. The neck is straight and the action low. The frets show normal wear but still play fine. The pickups sound excellent and all electronics work great. Definitely classic Ric tone. This guitar has been well taken care of for the past 35 years. It shows average pick, clearcoat and belt scratches as well as a few dents, chips and dings. Nothing out of the ordinary for its age and still nice for most players. Comes in original hardshell case.
