- - In the 80`s Ashley Pangbourne (details below) professionally fitted an optional active circuit & new pick-up. I wanted more boost to the bass end while keeping the custom Rickenbacker treble sound.
The photos show the neat battery compartment built in to the back, & the active pot & switch added to the front. The active circuit is optional & uses a standard battery for boost. I found i used it continuously & was really pleased with the upgrade. I am not sure the make of the pick-up added (perhaps an enthusiast could let me know)
