     Based on info from the seller, this appears to be a 4001S modified by removal of the neck PU and making of a new guard to cover the factory neck PU route.

    "The '67 FG 4000 (GE) is in very, very nice condition overall but the original owner did mount Gotoh pickups in it sometime back in the early '80's. The good thing is, NO routes were added, and the factory original routes were not expanded or opened up more, although the factory route for the neck (present in most, if not all 4000's of this era), was deepened a little bit in one small section inside of the factory route, for depth clearances. The bass is original in all aspects, save for the original (but not original to this bass) horseshoe PU, pickguard from pickguardian (original PG cut for the Gotoh's comes in the case), and repro tug bar. I currently have an original horseshoe from a lapsteel in it now."
